Assessment & Certification

Closely related to Fulford Harbour Group's work in Apprenticeships is our work in assessing and certifying the competence of trades and related workers.

We have developed assessments that help guide and gauge the competence of apprentices learning on the job right through to complete assessment systems that are certify competence in compliance with legal worker protection requirements.

We specialise in the development of practical assessments that provide an objective standardised way of determining the level of competence of employees and people challenging trades credentials from outside the formal Canadian apprenticeship system.

Working closely with industry we:

  • Design the assessment process
  • Hire and train industry specific assessors
  • Oversee and administer the assessment process

Recently, we have participated in the design of the BC Industrial Electrical Apprenticeship, BC Crane Operators Certification program and BC Funeral Services apprenticeships, all of which require demonstration of on job competence.

Experienced Assessment Team

Fulford Harbour Group's work in developing assessment materials and systems has enabled us to develop and refine assessment systems. We have our own in-house assessment team and can work closely with clients to develop and oversee their assessment process. The knowledge we gain through each industry's program development process means we bring to the assessment process a thorough understanding of each industry's knowledge and work-based experience requirements.

Occupational Health and Safety Regulations in British Columbia and Yukon require crane operators to demonstrate proof of competence. We designed, implemented and run the CraneSafe Certification System used to certify the competence of Crane Operators in BC and Yukon. → more information on CraneSafe Certification.
