Load Chart & Rigging
Learning Guides & Practice Exercises
Level A Certification
These Load Chart & Rigging Learning Guides & Practice Exercises are provided as resources to help you prepare for this portion of the Level A – CraneSafe Certification assessment. The crane industry has stated that operators must get a minimum mark of 70% to be found competent.
Note:
At the end of each Practice Exercise, there is an Answer Key which gives the correct answer plus a brief explanation for each question. To use these practice exercises most effectively, it is recommended that the operator removes the Answer Key prior to answering the questions and has another person mark their questions. If there are any incorrect answers, the operator should attempt to find the correct answer without consulting the Answer Key directly.
Crane Operators are advised to read these documents prior to their assessment:
• How to Prepare for your Assessment
• Notes for the Crane Operator
• WorkSafeBC Regulations: Wire Rope, Rigging & Attachments
• Sample Target Course
Operators are permitted (encouraged) to bring the WorkSafeBC Regulations document with them to their assessment as they will be asked questions on this information.
