Lee Middleton

Managing Partner


Lee brings wide ranging experience working with both people and processes in industrial workplace training.

Beginning with a foundation of working effectively with people in Counselling Psychology Lee has developed technical knowledge in these areas:

  • Industrial electrical, electronics and control
  • Craning, rigging and hoisting - including 'Lift Safety Management'
  • Marine - small boat construction
  • Marine systems including diesel engines, navigation and electrical
  • Plant processes and maintenance management
  • Quality systems
  • Human Factors in industrial processes

Lee has been convinced of the value of 'learning by doing' and has developed a practice in Competency Based Workplace Learning, leading development of the Industrial Electrical and Mobile Crane Competencty Based Certifications in BC. Lee has become an enthusiastic student of apprenticeship and competency training and assessment systems from around the world.

Through his work, Fulford Harbour Ltd. is able to draw on the best elements of industry training systems from Europe, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia - which have received substantial public investment - for our clients in Canada.

Lee has worked as an independent consultant since 1999 with the formation of the Burrard Education Group Ltd. in Vancouver. After working jointly on several projects through 2001 to 2003 Lee and Chris Bywater formed Fulford Harbour Consulting Ltd. in 2004.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario and a diploma in Education from the University of British Columbia as well as various psychometric testing certificates. Lee is an enthusiastic wooden boat restorer - his five year restoration of 'Meg' a 40 foot cedar on fir Bolger yawl built by Neil Adam on Gabriola Island is expected to be complete this year - or maybe next year!
